Wii Fit
This is a late post, but I figured it would be good to post this anyways. For my birthday, Cameron got me a Wii Fit. Unfortunately, we are not home during the week and I have been sick or busy on the weekends so I have not been able to use it too much. I am currently on Thanksgiving break from work and was able to get on it yesterday and today. I spent a half hour of clock time on it yesterday and about 45 minutes clock time today. Total working out time was about 30 minutes! Whew! It was good! I am hoping to get on it each day this week and then try real hard to use it each Friday night and Saturday. I have also been doing the ab/core workout about three times a week. Hopefully, it will totally help me get back into a place where I can really work out.

50!!!
So the other day I got really sick and tired of not doing anything to workout because of my shoulder and Richard and told me I needed to be careful so he wasn't letting me do any more then 5 pushups but while he was at work I had nothing better to do so I did pushups and crunches. I did 50 pushups!!! in sets of ten but I did them! 40 were on my toes doing regular pushups while the last 10 were on my knees doing diamond pushups. And I'm so excited because my shoulder was fine!!! I"m going to go do more today and crunches too!!!

Things to Help my Back
Well, there are a few things that I can do to help my back. I have been going through a really bad spell (crying even while putting my shoes on). I need to strengthen my core muscles and lose weight. Well, I started today with strengthening my core. I am doing an ab workout once a day and hopefully that will help.

Disneyland 5k

On September 6th, we participated in the Disneyland 5k. My mom, Sean, and Melanie all went too! The race was amazing! I will have to post some of my mom's pictures (from her own camera). There were characters along the entire route and music playing the whole time! It was fun! Cameron ran, I walked quickly, and the other three ran/walked while taking pictures along the way. I definitely want to get in better shape though! How do I accomplish that when I am only home on the weekends, and don't get to the apartment from work until dinner time? Any suggestions?

Oh Don't You Dare!
Angel don't say that. I know it is frustrating... I haven't been able to workout for sometime now because of my shoulder and I'm going insane! I've gained weight and I can feel it... I got on the scale a few days ago and sat there looking at the numbers tick up and I kept thinking in my head, don't you dare! I had made a promise to myself that I would never see a certain weight again and I was 2 pounds over it and I was mortified. Before I had to stop working out I was at 147... Ya... not anymore... People slip up and that is just how it is but you can't give up and you have to believe that you will make it. I'm doing all that I can now, like crunches and leg lifts and dancing around the house, but what I really wish I could do is RUN! I know I know, it's my shoulder that is hurt not my legs but the impact kills my shoulder... it really stinks... Hopefully I can get over this soon, I miss feeling that sense of power and freedom when I run. Keep it up Angel, and don't loose hope.

I don't think I can do this! Really!
Man, what is wrong with me? I do really well for about a week and a half and then crash and burn! This week, I was terrible. No exercise, little water, and who cares what I was eating! UG! The scale did not like that! I am wondering if I will ever be the perfect me?

Half a Pound
Oh well. As I said, this last week was not good. I did not exercise and my eating was not great. Plus, my baby sister had her 18th birthday yesterday. We had two parties for her plus a family get together yesterday. Let's just say: cake, cake and ice cream, brownies and ice cream....yea.
Anyways, somehow I still managed to loose half a pound. Maybe this week will be better.

Not as good.
I have not done as well this week with my regiment. Chalk it up to traveling (for my new job). It is very difficult to maintain the type of diet I am doing while traveling, so I have been aware of my choices and done well, but I don't think I will lose as much weight this week. Oh well. Anyway, I have really started to crave my morning glass of water though! It is amazing, the first thing I want in the morning is a tall glass of cold water. I love it!

Four Pounds
WAHOOOOOOO!
I lost four pounds last week! That keeps me on track for my crazy goal. YES! AND, I only was able to workout twice with a short walk once and I gave myself a "free" eating day on Saturday. So it could have been a little more...but I am happy with that! We'll see what this week brings. Talk to you soon.

Still Sore
Yesterday, I went for a half mile walk to loosen up and it helped but I am still sore. Yikes. I did well eating yesterday, but did not drink as much as I should have. Today is a new day. I am walking with an included jog today and going to try to drink all the water I should. See ya tomorrow!

did ya miss me :)
Yes, I'm still alive. No, I am not at home right now; hince the lack of postings. The only time I can use the computer is at the office and let's face it, that's not the best place for personal business.
I am proud to tell you that I have been working out while I've been here. AND, I even got my not-so-little brother to work out every day with me before he goes to bed. We are only doing sit-ups and push-ups before bed, but I am doing more than that on a few other days of the week. Blarg, though. I feel like I am in worse shape for this race then I was for the last one. But I also think I feel like that just because I can't breath here in utah. But I am excited about it.

14 days later
Yeah, so my last two posts were all motivation and success. Hmmm. Well, I still feel the same way as I did about the rock and hard place. After that walk...I was down for the count (2 weeks that is). For whatever reason my back just decided to have a flare up! UG! Anyways, I am feeling much better after many visits to my chiropractor, Jason Packer. I am discouraged a bit because I was supposed to be getting ready for a 5k where there is a pace limit of 15 minutes/mile! I can't do that right now!
Anyways, I decided that I want to be under a certain weight by the race. So, I got on the scale yesterday morning and....stepped off and tried again, that can't be right! I have never weighed that much. Much to my dissappointment, the scale said the same thing the second time. I guess the last two weeks of lying down and munching over the holiday really did a number on me. Ug. So, I am trying to lose 29 pounds in 49 days!!!!! I know, CRAZY! Now, I am not into crash diets or extreme weight lose measures. But for the next 49 days, here is my desired regiment.
I am going to do one hour of working out each day and drink a full glass of water at specified times to make sure I get my needed intake. I will be eating mostly fruits and veggies. I will add protein to two meals and a small amount of carbs to two meals.
Monday: I did really well. Got all my water in, a one hour workout from BYU TV, multivitamins, and ate well without feeling hungry.
Tuesday: Again, I did it! I missed one glass of water, but I walked for 50 minutes, and ate well even when we went to Taco Bell. The taco salad only has about 150 calories if you don't eat the shell which I don't because I don't really like it anyways! Also, Cameron makes these amazing Orange Juliuses without sugar! It is just OJ, milk, vanilla, and ice! So, I had one at night. Yumm.
Today: I am doing ok. I am really sore, so I am not going to work out hard today, but I will take a short walk to keep the muscles loose and stretch. I let you know my progress tomorrow.

Went for a Walk
Ok, so after I was so good two weeks ago, my back decided to freak out on me. I was literally in bed most of last week, icing my back 3-5 times a day, taking major ibuprofen, and getting adjusted three times. I finally started to feel better on Friday. Yesterday, Cameron and I went for a SLOW half mile walk. I iced my back when we got back. I am still feeling ok; not good, but ok.
We also started to change the way we eat. We are starting with breakfast. Breakfast is one serving each of fruit, grain/starch, and dairy. So a slice of bread, a piece of fruit, and a tennis ball sized amount of yogurt. Or, one of my favorites, a baseball sized amount of cereal with cut fruit on top. Be creative with the combinations, too. A little protein (like an egg) is fine also. The key is the serving size. We have to remember that McDonald's serving sizes are really two to three servings! Next week: breakfast continues and we change the way we eat lunch.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

In the past few years, I have found myself in between a rock and a hard place. I hate to work out because it sucks and sometimes hurts, but if I don't work out I will stay the way I am. The problem? I figured it out. Last night, I think I began to have what is going to be a break through. Cameron and I came home from a "date" and (without going into details) something happened that made me cry. As I was explaining my feelings, I blurted out, "This is not who I am. I do not like my body; it isn't me! I feel like I am inside a body that doesn't fit!" BINGO!!! I had said it out loud and realized what a truth it is. I don't want to stay the way I am which means working out....rock and hard place.
Do you want to know who I am inside? Well, at least what my body would possibly look like if my inside matched my outside.

This is Alicia Sacramone, a world champion medalist, I think she has the muscular build and physique that I feel I am personality wise.

She is way strong and the attitude in the second picture is about right sometimes, too! :)
So, Monday and Tuesday I did the dance video with Crystal. Yesterday I took the day off and had a mental breakthrough, I think. This morning, at 8:00 a.m. I went for a jog. I did a 5 minute walking warm-up and then alternated 2 minutes of jogging and 2 minutes of walking for 20 minutes; I finished with a 7 minute cool down. I got home and did 100 crunchies (5 sets of 20: upper, lower, right oblique, left oblique, upper) and a 20 second plank. Then I stretched. Tomorrow, I will do some strength training. Hopefully, this is my point of success!
